Hwaamchu Lighthouse
Hwaamchu Lighthouse
  • Background
    • It was built in 1983 as Ulsan Port continued growing, and there was a need to install a lighthouse to identify the entrance to Ulsan Port. Ulsan Regional Office of Ocean and Fisheries originally built a tuttle shaped lighthouse after there had been many marine pollution accidents caused by subsea rocks. But the functionality of the lighthouse deteriorated when the area was developed as a residential district, and the lighthouse was moved to the current location.
